Accessibility
What's built in, and what we haven't tested yet.
Built in
- WCAG 2.2 Level AA is the target.
- A skip link, full keyboard use, and a visible focus outline everywhere.
- Every text color measured against its background. The lowest contrast on the site is 6.8 to 1.
- Every listing writes out its level in words. The little gauge only backs up the words.
- The directory filter is a set of real radio buttons with a label, and it announces how many listings are showing. Without JavaScript, every listing simply shows.
- The checklist uses real checkboxes, each with its own label, and prints cleanly.
Not tested yet
Nobody who uses a screen reader every day has tested the site yet.
